FAMILY-SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP

St Joseph’s Primary School is committed to building a strong Family-School Partnership. We aim to provide authentic opportunities for engagement in the life of the school. We encourage this through the work of the Family School Partnership Framework endorsed by the Lismore Catholic Schools Office and through the work of all members of our school community.

The school is currently working with Dr George Otero from the Centre for Relational Learning in New Mexico as a way of improving opportunities for growth in this area.

We encourage participation and engagement at whatever level is appropriate for each individual person and family.

Parent Volunteers

Volunteers play a significant role in the work of the school and we appreciate the contributions of all parents, friends and families who share in providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment for our young people. If you are able to share your own gifts, talents or interests with the school, please contact the School Office on 02 65625501.

Ways that you can be involved include:

  • Attendance at regular P&F meetings;
  • Attending Information Meetings;
  • Volunteering in classrooms;
  • Attending assemblies, class and whole school activities;
  • Engaging with school communication such as the School newsletter;
  • Providing feedback through surveys conducted by the school;
  • Attending social gatherings;
  • Becoming a member of the Parent Assembly;
  • Becoming a member of the Macleay Valley Parish.

P&F Association

The Parents and Friends Association (P&F) has been the backbone of the fundraising efforts in our community. Each year a relatively small but enterprising group of volunteers works tirelessly to provide resources for the students and staff of St Joseph’s. Participating in the activities of the P&F is actively encouraged, as it is a  practical way to both assist the development of the school and get to know other parents and caregivers in the school community

OOSH

The St Joseph’s Outside of School Hours Care service operates 50 weeks a year. It offers many programs, including after school, vacation care and pupil free days.

All services offered operate from the newly renovated facility at the front of our school. Children from Kindergarten to Year 6 are accepted into all programs that are offered. We also accept students from the wider community into our vacation care programs.
