At St Joseph’s we foster and celebrate diversity. Traditional cultures and heritage; learning needs and diverse learning styles all form part of the fabric of the diversity of the learners in our community. We are leading the way in providing Diversity Support to families and to raise awareness of the story of our community.
We do this through:
Celebrating Harmony Day, Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week celebrations;
Inclusion of the traditional language of the Dunghutti Indigenous people of the Macleay Valley;
Hosting Community Conversations with Staff, Parents and Students;
Providing individualised support for students who have a Personalised Learning Plan;
Engaging with relevant external support providers to assist students with an additional learning need;
Engaging in extension opportunities such as the Science and Engineering Challenge.
Students with an additional need are supported through the support of our Diversity team. Family partnerships are the key to this success.
St Joseph’s Primary School provides interventions and supports to students with additional learning needs and provides support to all learners in the classroom through a differentiated approach to learning and teaching.
