ANZAC DAY

Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 proudly represented our school at the ANZAC Day March on 25th April. Together, we laid a wreath on behalf of the school in commemoration of those who have served and sacrificed.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff, families and students who joined us for this meaningful occasion.

MOTHER'S DAY MASS & MORNING TEA

Thank you to everybody who came and celebrated Mother's Day with us this year, we had an incredible turn out of Mums, Nans, Aunties, Grandmother's and special women in our lives!
It was so beautiful to be able to honour and thank all the wonderful Mothers and women in our lives and as part of our St Joseph community, and the children loved having you at this very special Mass and morning tea.

Thank you to everybody who came and celebrated with us and to our amazing staff for making it such a special morning. Special thanks to Miss Zoe for creating our beautiful balloon arch!

YEAR 6 STUDENTS EXPLORE
SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

On Thursday, our Year 6 students had an exciting and inspiring day at the Science and Engineering Challenge hosted by St Paul’s High School. They took part in hands-on activities, worked together to solve real-world problems, and got a glimpse into the world of STEM. A fantastic experience that sparked curiosity and teamwork! Thanks to Miss van Leeuwen and Mrs Duncan for supporting the students on the day.

YEARS 5 & 6 COMPETE AT THE
DA VINCI DECATHLON

On Thursday, selected students from Years 5 and 6 proudly represented our school at the da Vinci Decathlon. Competing against other schools, they took on a series of challenging tasks across subjects like mathematics, engineering, art, and English. It was a fantastic day of creativity, and critical thinking—well done to all who participated and a special thank you to Mrs Chambers for preparing the students at lunch times in the weeks leading up to the event.

NATIONAL WALK SAFELY TO SCHOOL DAY

Now in its 26th year, National Walk Safely to School Day (WSTSD) is an annual campaign and event encouraging all primary school children, their parents, and carers to walk safely and regularly to school.

Walking to school is a great way to incorporate physical activity into a daily routine to support healthy development. Encouraging kids to be active daily establishes good habits that can stay with them throughout their lives.

Teach your child vital road safety rules while walking to school - free resources and information are available on Safety Town. Watch the Rockin’ Road Safety Clip by St Brigid’s Primary Kyogle.

TELL THEM FROM ME SURVEY

Tell_Them_From_Me_Survey.jpg

This term, our school is participating in the Tell Them From Me® (TTFM®) student survey. This survey provides valuable feedback on students' perspectives from years 4 and up about school life, their engagement, and the ways teachers interact with them.

The surveys are rigorously validated and developed by The Learning Bar, an organisation specialising in educational research and survey administration. These surveys gather crucial data that help enhance student learning experiences and overall school environment.

Key Points:

  • The survey is confidential, and school staff will not be able to identify individual students from their responses.
  • Participating students will receive a unique username and password to ensure confidentiality.
  • The survey is online, takes 15 to 20 minutes, and will be conducted during school hours.
  • Participation in the survey is voluntary. If your child feels uncomfortable with any question, they can skip it or stop the survey at any time.
  • Teachers will remind students that they can talk to their teacher or guidance counsellor if they feel distressed or worried about the survey.
  • The survey measures topics such as emotional and social well-being, physical health, and behaviours and attitudes that are predictors of student success.
  • It also allows students to provide their thoughts and feedback through open-ended questions.

If you do not want your child/children to participate in the survey, please complete the attached opt – out form and return it to the school by Monday 19th May 2025.

EXPLORING THE SYMBOLISM & HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOL CREST

As part of our history unit on community and remembrance, Stage 2 have been looking at symbols and symbolism. Mr Campbelll gave a very interesting and insightful lesson on the history of our School Crest. Our students are now able to identify the various aspects on our crest, the meaning behind each element and students displayed an understanding of how and why our school crest has evolved over time.
