ZONE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
It was a cold Wednesday morning as thirty nine Joey’s kids walked through the gate to represent our school zone in Port Macquarie. It was a forty to forty five minute ride. As we arrived there were six schools awaiting us for a challenge. Then before we started we had a long good prayer then the games began.
First, we had the 1500m run, the hardest race of all. The juniors were up first. It was an epic battle against the six schools against us, then came the seniors. It was another hard and epic race.
Then came the 100m race. It was fantastic, juniors rushed out first competing like wild. Then came the seniors. The fastest people got ready to go to the finals.
Suddenly people rushed to the side lines cheering on the 200m runners for juniors. It was crazy. Then came the seniors. They were as quick as cheetahs.
Then it was long jump. People had one practice, then it was game on. People jumped as far as they could trying their best for seniors. Then juniors rushed out trying to get the farthest to represent their schools.
Suddenly seniors went first pushing the heavy metal sphere as far as they could. There were only two winners though. Then juniors came out and they were outstanding. The strength was amazing.
All of a sudden the seniors came back for more, but this was discus. It was amazing throwing it about 30m. Then came the juniors having an outstanding go at it.
